General Information |
In order to assess the performance of lighting systems some general information must be collected. This information will help organize the collected data in a clear concise manner.
- Location
- Use a site map to accurately map the location of all lights.
- Fixture Type
- Lamp Type
- Incandescent
- Fluorescent
- Mercury Vapor
- Metal Halide
- High Pressure Sodium
- Low Pressure Sodium
- Ballast Type
- Lamp Wattage
- Check stock rooms for replacement lamps in storage to easily identify type and wattage.

Operational Characteristics |
The following information should be measured on site using a light meter.
- Lighting Level (Lumens)
- Record for each individual room.
- Operational Hours (OH) - The operating hours of that section of the facility.
- Use Factor (UF) - The percentage of the local operating hours the motor is operating.
